Faculty Elections
It’s that time of the year again – faculty election season is upon us! Would you like to see change and/or make an impact at UNCA? The easiest way to do so is to become involved in faculty governance and do this work from the inside. Facutly Senate is looking forward to seeing many new names on this year’s ballots!
The first step in this process is soliciting nominations. FWDC invites both self-nominations and nominations of colleagues. Please submit your nominations using this form by the following deadlines:
Monday, March 4:
Faculty Senate
Post-Tenure Review Committee
Academic Appeals Board
Faculty Assembly
Faculty Conciliator
Monday, March 24:
Committee of Tenured Faculty (NS and HUM representatives)
Faculty Committee on Hearings (will elect representatives from all divisions)
Faculty Grievance Committee (Full and Associate representatives)
This form contains information about the current makeup of each committee, a list of individuals rolling off of the committee and qualifications needed to serve on each committee so that you can identify areas of need going forward.
We ask that you consider and submit your nominations as soon as possible.
FWDC strongly encourages nominations for the Faculty Senate. Each year, we elect 6 new senators and 4 alternates. Untenured faculty members are especially welcome to run for the Faculty Senate. However, per the Faculty Handbook, any untenured faculty member may request FWDC to remove their name from the ballot.
